Adverts

I've done a bit of a bad thing. I have signed up to Blogger AdSense - hence the rather subtle adverts down the sides and at the bottom of this blog.

It's a bit of an experiment to see if you get any more than a total of 0.5 pence or 1 shilling per month. Hope you don't mind, but after nearly 3 years of writing this I thought I would give it a whirl. I'll let you know how I get on.

  1. Just had to laugh...not sure how your poor husband would feel about this...but one of the advertisements that came up for me was "Unsatisfied Married Women" with a link to "MarriedButLonely.com" I wonder what in your blog gave google that impression since they use key word searches to find ads they think will suit your blog...hence the other ads for travel to Kruger and Expat Savings Accounts...too funny!

  2. Ads are cool, I try to think of them like wallpaper.

How classic - can't wait to tell my husband that he has a 'married but lonely' wife!

I'll be clicking on every ad. Having visited your blog for more than 1 year, it is the least I can do to make sure you get compensated for your time, if anything. Thanks for all you do keeping us Kenyans abroad abreast with our country.

  6. Thank you Anonymous for offering to click on the ads! Very loyal of you - will keep on blogging and watching the kind of ads I get allocated with interest!

  7. Hi Africa Expat Wife,

Don't worry too much about the ads bothering us, your readers. With your great content, we'll keep coming back no matter what!

On that note, I'd like to let you know that I prized you with the honest scrap award on this post on my blog. I hope you'll accept it and tell us a little bit more about the blogger behind your wonderful blog.

    Thanks for your great writing.

  8. I don't know if they alter those ads for each reader, but the ones I see are for dog grooming, hospital beds, and haircutting!
